Join Karen in learning the original Hormone Yoga Therapy for women,as developed by Dinah Rodrigues. Hormone Yoga Therapy is suitable for women in menopause as well as pre and peri menopause. It also has wonderful results for those wishing to conceive and for people with menstrual problems. It is also recommended as a preventative therapy for women over 35. Once you have attended the 4 classes you will be able to do the sequence on your own at home as part of your daily routine or choose to continue with weekly classes at the studio.

 

 

I Am Girls Yoga Course for Teenage Girls with Shannon Viens

To offer girls an opportunity to connect to their truth, power and purpose! This is a 12 week structured course incorporating a 75 minute Yoga class, and a 75 minute Self exploration and Empowerment class, aiding girls to connect to themselves and others through exploring themes like: Self esteem; Knowing you, knowing me; What am I creating in my life?; Sharing my greatness; Cultivating gratitude and healthy boundaries.

Dates: Sept 11 - Dec 11 2014 Time: 5-7:30pm Thursday evenings

Open to girls aged 11-17 years old

Investment for 12 two and a half hour classes, including materials: $360.00.

True Yoga is hosting a wonderful program for teenage girls this fall.It was designed by Heather Hawthorne, a homeopath living here in Alberta.In her own words:

"In the spring of 2011, overwhelmed by the number of women in my practice whose present-day health difficulties had their roots in the time around when they were twelve years old, I made the decision to start a program for teen girls. I want to reach out to teen girls at a pivotal time in their lives, and offer opportunities for improved self-esteem and health that will in turn impact their families, both present and future. The mission of the I AM Girls program is " To connect girls with their truth, power, and purpose ". By introducing young teens to leadership and empowerment messages, wholistic health including homeopathy, and yoga, I believe we can interrupt processes that lead to years of pain and suffering."

The program runs for 12 classes and each class has a different theme.Parents will also receive a handbook that they can use to continue the discussions of the program at home. The program starts with a 75 minute yoga class and then 75 minutes of group activities offering girls opportunities to connect with their truth, power and purpose in a supportive group environment.

Girls from 11-17 are welcome and if a younger girl is interested this is possible.Each girl will be making a journal/book with imagery and art as part of the course.All materials are provided.

The course starts Sept 11 and runs for 6 weeks until Oct 16, there is then a 2 week break for integration time,with the second 6 weeks running from Nov 6 to Dec 11.Shannon Viens is the facilitator.She is a certified yoga teacher and homeschooling mom of 3 and has been trained in the I Am Girls program. Heather brings her background in wholistic health, together with her experience in youth programming, and a passion for empowering people, to offer this dynamic program for girls.
